We have received the following notice from the City of Frisco Public Works Department:
Stage 3 Watering Restrictions
We ask all residents to keep their sprinkler systems turned off this summer, check the city website www.friscotexas.gov/water to see if watering is necessary, and use your regular trash day if permitted.
Modifications to Stage 3 beginning Sunday, June 29, 2014:
- The use of automatic sprinkler systems will be limited at each service address to once every two weeks based on location within the residential trash collection zones and the watering schedule map.
- Turf grass may be watered up to two hours on any day with a hand-held hose except between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm.
- Registered and properly functioning smart irrigation systems must comply with the once every two week restrictions.
Existing Stage 3 Restrictions and other water conservation measures will remain in effect focusing on:
- Outdoor watering is not permitted from 10 am to 6 pm or during rainfall; and any water flowing away from your property including pools, water slides, and splash days is also prohibited.
- The use of automatic sprinkler systems is not permitted on Saturday or Sunday.
- Foundations, landscaping, and trees may be watered up to two hours on any day by hand-held hoses, soaker hoses, or by using drip/bubbler irrigation systems.
- Areas associated with public safety as determined by the City of Frisco may be watered as necessary.
- Hydro mulching is prohibited.
- Over seeding with Rye grass or other cool season grasses is prohibited.
- Spray irrigation systems in roadway medians controlled by the City of Frisco have been turned off. Bubblers are still used to water trees in those medians. The City uses well water for irrigation at Warren Sports Complex, Frisco Commons, and Harold Bacchus Community Park. The City uses reuse water for irrigation at B.F. Phillips Community Park.
- Private water wells are used for irrigation at the Toyota Soccer Center, Starwood, and for roadway landscaping around Stonebriar Mall. Reuse water is used for median and common area irrigation in Phillips Creek Ranch and Pearson Farms.
- HOA landscape replacement requirements will not be enforced by the City of Frisco.
- Swimming pools may be drained and refilled for structural repair or chemical maintenance.
